-There are 3 layers of connective tissue within the muscle itself. Epimysium is the outermost
layer of a muscle tissue with Perimysium being the layer that surrounds bundles of the muscle
fibers. Within that the 3rd layer, the Endomysi
Purpose: The purpose of this lab experiment is to see and identify the onset blood lactate
accumulation as well as determine the ventilator breaking point.
Subjects- 2 subjects were tested; 1 male trained and 1 female also trained; male=
Purpose: To learn how to measure blood hematocrit in trained and untrained individuals
through the use of a centrifuge.
Subjects- There was 18 subjects tested, average height was 171.43 cm and the average weight
was 71.99 kgs. 1 untrained subject
-The purpose of this experiment is to observe and record cardiovascular responses to both large
and small muscle exercises. As well as the different effects certain exercises have on BP and HR.
Subjects- There was 13 subjects in total, f
Purpose: - Learn an indirect method in measuring BP,to learn skills that are
associated with taking BP at rest and during exercise as well as to understand the
changes of posture and the response of BP during exercise.
Procedure: See attached Lab
-To become familiar with reading and learning the basic principles of an ECG. As well as
applying an ECG to a GXT. Lastly, how to prep for a resting and exercise ECG, and how to
observe a GXT through ECG monitoring.
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment was to assess oxygen deficit and EPOC through the
use of open-circuit Spirometry to see how exercise affects both variables before, during and post
exercise during low and high intensities.
- To estimate what the maximum oxygen uptake would be using three different types of
submaximal testing including the cycle ergometer, the step test and the walk test and to compare
it to actual VO2max using a graded max exercise test.
Purpose: To observe how static and dynamic contractions are affected by muscle fatigue at
various rates and intensities of contraction.
Procedures: See Lab Handout
Subjects: 12 males/4 females were used for measurements. Average Height= 69.32 in.
Purpose: To get familiarized with the measurements and equipment that is used within exercise
