    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Of all the general biology professors available on campus, I think Dr. Page is the best because not only does he have reasonable expectations, but he is an amazing professor. Explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand and has fair quizzes and tests. You are only tested on the material from the notes, so if you also read the book, there will not be any surprises.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Page focused on the core material rather than the minute details. Some professors expect your knowledge to match the textbook, which can be a big thing to ask for such a detailed textbook. His focus is on making sure you understand the core material thoroughly so you can add the extra details with ease.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Many students use flashcards to study the material. I don't think that's the best way to approach the exams. Luckily, the Pearson textbook has practice questions at the end of every section as well as at the end of the chapter. When reading the chapter, be sure to answer those questions. That is studying! Then when you finish the chapter, you don't need to do all of the questions, but it's good to do at least a few. Overall, the practice questions should be easy enough to do if you just read the material, and they will be similar to the questions asked on an exam! I did this and I got an A without much extra effort.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course is presented in a way that the professor clearly wants to see his students grasp an understanding of the concept and succeed throughout the course. It is a great introductory class into the world of biology and really allows for students to see what they are interested in so that students may focus in on a concentration that is enjoyable to them.

    Course highlights:

You learn about the timeline of science, from archaeology and theories about how life on Earth began, to genetics and the sciences being studied today that affect our lives as a human species.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

For this professor, your notes are what will bring you success throughout the course because he is a professor that really makes sure you know what you need to study for his exams, and those notes are really what the textbook says but in a way that makes sense to introductory students.
