    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

At first glance the course seemed to be very challenging, and that is because it was. It was unlike any other course I have taken here at LIM College. Based on the reviews of other students here at LIM, the other professors who teach Applied Concepts in Merchandising do not go into specifics the way that Professor Fradella does. We're in college to be challenged and to learn more about the world and about the industry, that is exactly what you learn in this course. I cannot tell you how much information I received from one semester and how much I am still applying all of that knowledge to my other courses this Spring semester. Plain and simple - take Professor Fradella online for Applied Concepts and make sure to have excellent time management skills.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot: from creating cost sheets, researching information on companies using the LIM databases, analyzing globalization within the retail industry, and even creating a full on PESTLE analysis for a company (group project) and determining which country is suitable for business.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

What I did throughout the course was take Professor Fradella's notes (online course) and create my own notes in my own words in order to better understand the material. Making sure that your discussion board post's are given effort and done in a timely manner as well, and giving this course plenty of time (time management skills must be of the highest importance).

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It overviews the processes and topics that are necessary within the subject of merchandising. There will be topics on factoring, investment, product development, marketing, and costing. This class seemed to be very extensive but the professor was hardly detailed and often vague.

    Course highlights:

Learning about the different investment and financial options a brand/company has in order to supply their products to a larger audience. And also learning about cost sheets, which are the sheets with the detailed components to determine a cost of a good.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Ask questions directly to the professor whenever you are unclear about what assignment requirements. Refer to resources on blackboard and also the assignment packet for due dates and further instructions. Utilize the library research help guide for the class, it will be entirely helpful if you're taking the class online.
