Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

For others who are interested in the idea of human behavior or just overall psychology, just like myself, this class is a great way to begin. I took this course within Monroe College's Jump Start program during my junior year of high school and it was eye opening. I became so interested in the topics involved in the class and sparked motivation in myself to enter college majoring in Forensic Psychology. The logical conversation within the friendly atmosphere was a great learning experience which i would recommend to anyone.

    Course highlights:

One thing I favored the most within the class was when we received a research paper on the conditioning. The typical two types of conditioning, classical and operant, were put to use. We had to construct our own experiment by conditioning a friend or family member. I based my project on Pavlov and his infamous experiment with dogs by conditioning my mom to be prepared for pain (a pinch) at the sound of a beep, created by my phone. This taught me the idea of conditioning and how psychologist create experiments and take all factors into consideration.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

One major tip is to always read and improve your writing, in this course literature is a large factor and taking it into consideration is mandatory to excel. A large quantity of the knowledge obtained was from reading and was then interested into writing sections of test or homework assignments.

Reading the book in very important. Students can't get by with everyday knowledge.
