Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class was very straight-forward but it also allowed for creative thinking. Discussions were always interesting seeing as many people have differing opinions.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to properly analyze literature. The best thing about this course is that there is no real wrong answer when it comes to interpretation. You could be on the right track of an idea but need to re-direct the way it's being analyzed.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't skip the readings!! It's so important to get ahead of them, if you can. Some materials could be complex so you'll need more time to digest it. Also, don't be afraid to voice your opinions. If you're thinking "This idea is too in-depth. I'm probably not on the right track anyway." then say it! You could be thinking exactly what your professor is thinking. Or you could have something so brilliant that your professor hasn't even thought of it. Take chances.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class will truly improving writing abilities and comprehension skills. Not only does a student gain more knowledge, it is in a setting where he or she will feel comfortable. The teacher is very sweet and is willing to take the time to help students. The class is also very enjoyable and students will find it fun as well as learn new writing techniques. The material learned will help throughout college.

    Course highlights:

The most useful information I have learned in this class, has helped me throughout college so much. I have kept notes and remembered the teacher’s advice throughout college when doing writing assignments, reading assignments, and writing essays. I have gotten a compliment from one of my professors for my writing skill, and it is all thanks to my ENG 101 teacher. She will teach you different writing structures and words to not use or overuse in an essay. This single advice with a list of words to avoid, improves essays by a significant amount. The words include: these, that, this, those, there. There are alternatives and sometimes these words are fillers. Essays will look much more professional and clean with Ms. D’Accurzio’s advice.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is not an easy A. Students need to earn their grade. Essays that are written overnight may not earn a perfect score. Students will rewrite essays. With all this said, the hard work pays off in the end. Putting the time and dedication in the class will be rewarding. Your essays and writings will be so much better than when you first entered the classroom. There may be multiple essays that require time to think it through and write carefully. The grading of quizzes and essays might be tough, but you will learn. Mistakes will be made and by the end of the course, you will have improved writing skills which will be beneficial for the rest of your life.
