Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Heidi is an extremely knowledgeable professor and she provides all of the resources necessary to complete this course with a satisfactory grade. Along with her informative in class lectures, she is also available outside of class to help with anything necessary. Her fun personality also makes for a terrific learning environment.

    Course highlights:

Since I took AP Environmental Science in high school, there was a lot of repetition as far as the general material goes. However, she did assign one research project for each student which allowed us to become more informed on a specific topic of our choosing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The biggest part to succeeding in this course is to show up to lecture and take notes. Dr. Heidi provides a lot of supplemental material through her own knowledge, and she will not provide this information on lecture slides. Be sure to pay attention and take as thorough of notes as possible.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is enlightening and impassioned. Whether or not you know a lot or a little about the environment, this class will open your eyes to the significance, severity, and vulnerability of the environment today. It will motivate you to not only learn more, but to change how you interact with the world, pushing you to be more environmentally conscious and aware. This class accomplishes what teaching should accomplish, it is educational, inspiring, and motivates you to want to know and do more.

    Course highlights:

This course covered a wide array of subjects within environmental studies, including agriculture, oceans, various kinds of pollution, and basic ecology. The best thing about this course is that it gave a clear overview of the multiplicities of environmental studies while still being interesting and engaging.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you are making a real effort to learn, your work will be appreciated. If you have trouble with the quantity of information or difficulty of the class, ask more questions, ask for help from other students, and especially ask the teacher for help. Be engaged and involved. Even if you don't feel comfortable speaking a lot in class, find other ways to show that you care about the class. It is well worth it, and the class is very interesting if you pay attention.
