    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Whether you have a strong passion for East Asian Cultures or you are just interested in taking this course as a requirement, Professor Chandler does an amazing job immersing her students into the rich Chinese history. Professor Chandler is an extremely helpful person who is passionate about this topic. She is more than willing to make herself accessible to students. Like any other professor, she expects respect from her students, but makes sure to crack jokes and make the lectures an overall stimulating learning experience. I would take this course again.

    Course highlights:

It can be daunting trying to learn the long history of China over one semester, but Professor Chandler made sure to make the class interesting and inviting. One of her assignments included a city project, where students were asked to go to a cultural location in the city that is relevant to the Chinese culture. This project definitely made students get a touch of the Chinese culture outside of the classroom, which was beneficial for non-Chinese students. It was also interesting to hear the controversial topics that China faces in the modern world towards the end of the semester.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This class is not an easy A class, but definitely worth taking. Coming into this course, I did not expect to get as much out of it as I ended up with. Students should keep on top of their assignment and make sure to reach out to the Professor because she strives to make herself available for anything.
