Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Nearly all coding interviews will contain questions about data structures and algorithms, therefore understanding and mastering the content of this class is essential for all aspiring programmers. When taking this course be sure to read all the coding assignments thoroughly, as one can lose a lot of points for very small mistakes. I highly recommend taking this course with professor Klukowska; she is very caring and just an overall awesome teacher.

    Course highlights:

Definitely learning the sorting algorithms and learning about Binary Search Trees were the most fun and fascinating parts of the course. This class taught me a lot about how data is organized and accessed in computer programs.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Please do the coding assignments in time and don't wait till the last minute. I know that this advice might sound generic, but in my experience students end up underestimating the size of their coding projects all the time.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is essential to learning Computer Science. It teaches you the basic and necessary data structures that you will be using throughout your career in the field of CS. It also gets you familiarized with the basic algorithms of using those structures.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about the basic data structures used in programming. Looking back, they were of huge help in CS interviews. Some of the questions from the interviews were variations of the assignments we had already done in the class. :)

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't try to memorize all features/functions of the data structures. As long as you have a general understanding of when and how to use them, the rest of the information will come to you naturally!
