    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

She does really well in explaining topics. She does examples during class and often uses these same examples on her tests and quizzes.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to study and practice. Doing practice problems is what helps the most to preserve the overall idea of a certain topic. Her powerpoints helped because they were thorough, and she posted the slides online so that you may annotate them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to be diligent, and pay attention in class. Simply going to the class is helpful because you learn vital information as opposed to just reading her slides online. She's a helpful professor and encourages students to maximize their potential. It's important to practice outside of the lecture because it helps to prepare for the final.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course for those who are expecting to be taught in a traditional classroom setting. Professor Kalaysioglu tested a new approach on our class in which her lectures were through videos, which may have been helpful to others, but was not helpful for me because of the lack of opportunities to communicate questions.

    Course highlights:

A unique aspect of this course are the video lectures as well as the online classwork and homework. For those who find this online method of learning appealing, then by all means go ahead and take this course! For those looking for a more traditional approach, look for another professor.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Unless you are a math person, you should definitely consider taking Calculus if it's a requirement for you with a different professor. If you do end up with Professor Kalaysioglu, just make sure to always go to your TA for help. Even if you don't do as well on the exams, at the very least your TA knows that you are trying your best.
