    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Megan is a blast, and so is this class! She is tough on her Goddard students but for good reason. This was easily the most challenging writing class I have ever taken. She challenged us every class to come in with bright, innovative ideas about each form of text that we read.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was seeing the exponential growth of my writing in essay style. I learned how to let my true voice shine through on even the most formal topics. I developed so many new tools for organized, sophisticated writing. I even found a writer that I like to follow in the New Yorker. 10 out of 10.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read as much as you can! Make sure you go above and beyond the required reading/writing, and most importantly be well read enough to back any statements made in class...because either Megan or your fellow classmates will have questions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Really great teacher. I just didn't really jive with his style.

    Course highlights:

The highlights are learning how to properly explain a piece of art.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Try to figure out the professors style before going into the course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He is a great teacher! In every class you learn something new that is beneficial to developing your essay writing skills. He's approachable, and gives great advice.

    Course highlights:

The highlights have been seeing the improvement that I am making when writing essays. I learned how to use the articles provided to come up with my own claims, and using the information to back up my claims. Instead of simply writing a claim without evidence or analysis.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's a requirement if you are in Tisch. I would definitely recommend Professor Christopher Wall. Make sure that you are doing your homework, and really investing the time, because it makes it easier as the semester draws nearer. It's important to use the new skills gained in class outside of class.
