    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Would recommend this course because it’s so much fun especially if you love rock music! Savitsky is very passionate about his subject and does a great job of demonstrating it.

    Course highlights:

The professor played a lot of music in his class which kept the attention and really efficiently talked about where each band came from and how they got started.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It is very important to take really good notes!! All of his quizzes are directly based on what he is saying!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend History of Rock because it opens the younger generation (those born after 1996) to a genre of music that many overlook, due to the over-abundance of pop and rap musicians in this day and age. The course takes you in depth on how rock was started, from the 1950's in the Korean War era, all the way to the 90's Grunge movement. While the subject matter is entertaining enough, Professor Savitsky's charismatic approach to the academia makes you never want to leave the classroom.

    Course highlights:

Through the course, I have learned the impact that rock has on today's music, with the structure of songs to the way instruments are played because of the genre. While the class is just a general education requirement, it is a class you would never want to refuse, if given the chance.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The greatest way to succeed in the class is to just pay attention in class. However, that should not be an issue because Savitsky always makes sure his students are intrigued from start to finish.
