Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it broadened my eyes to the media world and how we as a society have evolved to have such advanced ways to view current media . I also discovered many topics that I did know could be considered part of the media. Overall I thought this course has been very interesting so far and believe that others interested in a career in the media should definitely fit it into their schedule.

    Course highlights:

The most interesting thing I found we learned during this course was the music industry. We spent about two or three classes going through a chapter in the textbook about how the music industry came to be, and different popular artists success in their careers. We also often talk about media convergence and how media started from only being newspapers and silent films, to now having everything readily available on our phones and tablets.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The most important advice I would give is to read each chapter in the textbook and take notes before you go over it in class. There is a lot of note taking involved in this class, so the prewritten notes will allow you to listen to your professor explain the chapter in depth instead of taking notes the entire class and not retaining as much information. It also allows you to discuss the topic with your professor during class, and come in with any questions you have so you can stay on top of the information you are required to know.
