    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is very challenging, but I feel that I have become a better writer because of it. It involves a lot of small writing activities, as well as essay that really challenge you and force you to think critically.

    Course highlights:

Since Professor Chan's course has an emphasis on racial discrimination, I think the highlight of this course was getting to learn about racial inequality in America and the influences and injustices it causes. As a class we watched many music video's influenced by the Black Lives Matter movement and current events of brutality against minorities to inspire us to share our thoughts in order to promote the conversation for change within American society. From this course, I learned a lot about the importance of being aware of current events and how to use my own words to instigate change.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I highly recommend going to office hours. Professor Chan is very friendly and is more than willing to help you if you are willing to put in the work as well. Going to office hours shows that you care so she is more likely to reward you for your effort.
