    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This class is a three hour lab, and tends to drag on too long because the lab work itself is easy. It can be boring, but if you need the extra help, there is plenty of time to get it. If you take this class with the 181R class, it is easier to understand because they go over the same topics at the same pace. The lab goes a little more in depth, but not too much.

    Course highlights:

The best part about this lab was that it allows you to see how specific parts of DNA replication, and protein translation work and how errors in these processes can cause problems.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention to the TA when they present and ask questions when you don't fully understand. Do the assigned lab reading because the quizzes are pulled straight from the lab manual.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As long as you are a hard worker and enjoy multiple aspects of biology (not so much human biology) will you enjoy this class. Takes notes when the instructor provides any, and pay attention in MCB 181R as it correlates to this class.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the lab write-ups because they taught me that complex and over-baring writing is not always the best kind, especially for biology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Meet up with your lab partners for any group write-ups; otherwise it will be really difficult to get a good grade. Complete the assignments a few days before its due and then go talk to the teacher.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a very interesting course, most of what we learn is basic bio and there are a few lab reports but it is overall a very laid back setting having it only once a week.

    Course highlights:

    Photosynthesis is a big unit!!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Use all your resources, office hours are a great way to get to know your TA in terms of what he/she will be looking for when they grade your paper.
