Not too easy. Not too difficult.
This is a course for students with decent prior experience with the German language, but it is incredibly diverse and engaging when it comes to the class material. This class is highly intensive with class 5 days a week and homework every night, but it is not mundane busy work. You will read stories, write personal reflections, and learn about German history during the nightly assignments and daily classroom experiences. This class is taught entirely in German and the instructors will only speak in English if something is incredibly important, or to explain certain new concepts. There are no exams for this class whatsoever, so your grade relies solely on homework and class participation.
This is a class about engagement and experience. I definitely improved my conversational German skills by taking this course. I learned about the German grammar structure, which was the hardest, yet most imperative part of this course. In class, we got to interview two gentlemen who grew up in the former DDR, and got a first-hand sense of what life was like during that period. We also got to write several short stories in this class, which were lots of fun.
