Not too easy. Not too difficult.
This course is a requirement for Bio majors. For any non-majors interested in taking this class; it is engaging and informative, and will help you develop critical thinking skills to apply to other classes. Questions are always posed mid-lecture and this allows you to immediately understand what subjects you need to focus on the most. There is also a lot of peer discussion and group work involved in this class. There is only 1 paper required for the associated lab and many small assignments to help you stay on top of the material.
I learned a tremendous amount about the human body, plants, animals, inheritance and chemical cycles on earth. It’s a great sampling of ecology, evolution and understanding the basis of many diseases without being too rigorous. The discussion based format kept lectures interesting. Also, the labs are very fun and you are able to handle live aquatic specimens and exotic plants.
