Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class is a wonderful introduction to fairly basic concepts in statistics and probability theory. It has wide ranging practical applications and can aid the eager learner in parsing through the infinitude of studies that are released in an era dominated by scientific advances in the digital and medical sphere.

    Course highlights:

Hypothesis testing was an extremely fascinating statistical method that certainly helped to illuminate a lot of the methodology seen in longitudinal studies. Confidence testing was important as, having taken a class at the climactic conclusion of an election year, I was able to better understand the statistical techniques used by pollsters and could judge the accuracy of their results accordingly.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Come to class with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Be studious and pay close attention in class, as the material can certainly get difficult and it's easy to get hung up on one misunderstood element and lose your way on the rest of the topic. Always take notes and use them to study for the tests. Practice is essential to mastery.
