This class was tough.
Dustin is just amazing. He truly wants students to really learn. However, if you don't care to learn, he won't chase those who don't. He sticks to his syllabus (which others professors seem to be rather flighty with), which freaks some students out (no extra credit) but is awesome to have secure guidelines. Dustin is very intelligent, explains concepts well, and will meet with you to review your exam, etc.
Lectures! Please, please attend lecture. If you print out your notes beforehand (Dustin puts the slides online), you won't get the same experience if you don't go to class. Dustin makes the notes come to life.

Advice for students:
1.) Buy/rent the textbook. Though you don't have assigned readings, it's a GREAT resource. Lectures are based off of the book. The book and lectures follow each other very well. 2.) Go to class! Though optional, lectures make the a seemingly dry course come to life. You won't regret going. 3.) Don't be intimidated by the professor. Dustin may seem not-so-friendly to begin with, but he just has a different sense of humor. Stick around, and you'll have a lot of fun. 4.) Buddy up. Make a friend to discuss topics with. 5.) Print lecture notes beforehand. Class moves quickly. Don't fall behind because you're taking notes while Dustin explains something. I usually take notes every class, but I really benefitted from printing the notes for this class. Review them before lecture, and you'll be golden.
