    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is not an easy A class, straight up. You will have to work and put time in. However, Dr. Clarke is an excellent teacher who will work with you and help understand the concepts. His homework is clearly specified, and he is not unreasonable with it. In addition he is very fair with his policies across the board and shows no partiality towards any particular students based upon performance. The course is quite interesting, especially if you enjoy math such as Algebra as there is a large portion of manipulating equations and solving for variables.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was the cup calorimetry, which at first is a bear, but once you get the concept of the Cp constant and learn to manipulate the equation properly it feels so good. I also learned a lot of ions and ionic compounds, but they come in very useful, especially in labs.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make flashcards for the ions, and go to the test reviews, as those two things help tremendously. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions as Dr. Clarke is always willing to answer them.
