Most of the students (no matter what group they may be categorized into) are nice and willing to meet new people. I am an economics major and an american studies minor and I have found that the workload isn't too bad if you put the time in and stay focused.
Teachers personally haven't experienced or have a biased view on. Internships are pretty easy to find because of the career center and they are always willing to help, also a lot of alumnus are willing to help and provide feedback to students.
