1 Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals
with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants :

The Land Yet to Be Possessed
1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years ; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and
stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

1 ^ And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.
2 And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir- shemesh,
3 and Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,
4 and Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekr
1 at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.
2 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the
cities and their villages.
3 ^ And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according
2 but the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the
outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron
chariots, and though they be strong.
