Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Bly was an excellent professor; she taught about the aspects of US history that tend to be overlooked in other history classes. The heavy focus of the class wasn't on the wars or the elections - those tend to take up the majority of most American history classes. Instead, the focus was on the different aspects that aren't as well-known but still significantly shaped our history. For example, a lot of time was spent on labor unions and monopolies, and a solid portion looked at civil rights.

    Course highlights:

We looked at the foundations of the United States, starting after the Seven Years War and continuing on through the colonies. We looked at the tensions that increased leading up to the American Revolution. We discussed Andrew Jackson's presidency. We talked a lot about big businesses and monopolies, looked at labor unions, and ended with the civil rights era.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook. Utilize the study guides. Take excellent notes. You will only succeed in this class if you pay attention and give 100% of your efforts in her class.
