    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It gives you a chance to learn about a plethora of different topics all under personality and individual differences. It gave me a chance to look around and think about my past experiences with what I was taught. It was one of the most difficult courses I had taken, but well worth the struggle.

    Course highlights:

It allowed me to understand myself a lot more than I had known back in the past. It allowed me to understand why I am the way I am. I also learned that I am very high on certain traits while not as high on some others. When it comes to personality, I learned that I am very high in conscientiousness, high in extraversion, and high on neuroticism, but not as high on openness to experience nor agreeableness. This was based off of some of the personality tests we took while in class.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard and read everything that you are assigned. Make sure to read test items slowly as sometimes they are reversed in a way to make you think deeper. For extra help, I would suggest using the livescribe pen and the notebook that comes with it. It is a good study tool.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course gives insight on the personality perspective of psychology. The course discusses the many types of individual differences across a wide spectrum of people and geographical regions.

    Course highlights:

In this course, we learned multiple models of personality, different tests that indicate intelligence, and differences throughout the human race. The course discusses the reasoning behind why people think, act, and behave on a daily basis. This course was very interesting and I would recommend it to anyone that has curiosity in psychology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard, read the chapters/assigned readings thoroughly, and take diligent notes in class. Attend office hours for help on how to prepare for exams and papers. This course requires a lot of studying and reading of materials.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was tough and the one thing I wish I knew before taking it was: bring a laptop to lectures! My professor didn't post powerpoints online and had tons of material on the powerpoints in class. However, a lot of the important information that was on the tests were talked about during class, but I couldn't keep up with the notes. I learned so much about personality and psychology through this class and I really enjoyed the information overall. Definitely a class I would recommend taking, because I felt like it was really practical and applicable to daily life.

    Course highlights:

So much information was applicable to my life as a college student. I also learned material that I saw many, many times again in future psychology classes. Loved the professor, she was incredibly intelligent and insightful about so many different topics related to personality psychology. Enjoyed going to class every day, although she moved a little fast for my note-taking abilities.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Ask questions and don't be afraid to talk to the professor during her office hours. She's really awesome and super smart! She wants to see you succeed and will help you do so as long as you ask ahead of time, and not after you're already failing. Be prepared for essay questions and short answer questions on tests.
