Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a great class overall. It is very informative about how media effects the world around us, as well as our selves. The teacher was great and really help her student understand the material. I would definitely recommend this class.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course for me was talking about politics and how they affect the media. It was especially great to talk about it this year because there was an election.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students considering this course to come in ready to learn a lot of material, but not to be scared, because it is very interesting and fun to learn. Also, to make sure you read your book because it is very essential to the class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was EXACTLY what I would expect a college course to be - informative, stimulating, and challenging - but in a way that excited the class and made them question everything they thought they knew about media and society.

    Course highlights:

This course is BROAD, as we discussed a variety of media topics - photos, television, magazines, sports, movies, and celebrities; yet, it is also incredibly THOROUGH, as we got to delve deep into the stigmas associated with each of those topics. This course also encouraged a great deal of class discussion and debate, and was therefore incredibly interactive.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be open-minded! Dr. Preston will push you to question what you "think" you know about media and society as it is today.
