    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is interactive, interesting, and so far a great experience. Please take your lab reports seriously!

    Course highlights:

So far, the highlights of this course have been the Light Lab as well as the Chemical Analysis Lab. Both have allowed me to understand the core aspects of the photoelectric effect as well as chemical composition/chemical reactions. One of the major highlights in this course has been the amount of work done at home. Lab reports, on average, have taken roughly 5 hours to fully complete. It is advantageous to study the upcoming lab before showing up to class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed you will need a base knowledge of chemistry lab equipment, safety precautions for each lab, and patience. Working with others will be helpful, and complicated all at once. You will have to write a lab report based solely on the facts with no creative writing. Take excellent notes in order to produce a satisfactory lab report. Above all if you have time to repeat an experiment in the lab, do it. There is nothing wrong with getting the same answer twice. In fact, science calls for repeated answers of the same conclusion!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Weber was very encouraging throughout the course.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the hands-on learning aspect of being in a laboratory setting. I was able to visualize the chemical reactions that were taking place and learn more about the physical properties of the elements used.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend completing the lab report shortly after completing the experiment so that all of the details of the experiment are still fresh in your mind.
