    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to someone who is on the fence about speech pathology or audiology. This class will determine if this is a career path for you or not.

    Course highlights:

The highlight that comes from this course is seeing that good exam grade after you know how much time and effort went into it. The human body is so interesting and you will learn bones, muscles, and the physiology of that specific part of the body.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

If you study everyday, that will help you so much. You will feel overwealmed at first, but you will quickly learn to adjust.

There really is no reason to not recommend this course. I absolutely loved it.

    Hours per week:

    Advice for students:

Studying, especially with classmates, will really pay off. This is not a course that you can just slack off in. I studied every day for at least two hours.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class if you are considering the Communication, Sciences, and Disorders major. I came into college as undecided as a person could be. Towards the end of the first semester of my freshman year I thought about maybe studying speech pathology. This class is offered as a pre-requisite for the major and will ultimately help you decide whether you want to follow this path. Even though it is a tough class it really gets you prepared for what is to come.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights of this course for me were getting to make models of the brain and of the larynx. For the brain model we drew and labeled the different parts of the brain. It was really neat for me to learn about what part of the brain controls what part of the body or receives information from the body. The larynx model was even cooler because we got to make our models out of modeling clay so it was a 3D model. It was so challenging but so cool to actually figure out how all of our muscles and cartilage of our larynx work together.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

STUDY. Study as much as you can! It is a really challenging course, but totally worth it. Even if you are studying a little bit each day it will help, especially if you are like me and have never taken an anatomy class. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about anatomy. The information and names of the different parts of the body was hard for me to grasp in the beginning. So study as much as you can. Flash cards and biodigitalhuman.com were my best friends.
