    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course with BJ Yoblinski! He is a great professor, but expects alot out of you. Overall, this course well prepares you for Chem 2, and the way he teaches allows you to better retain the information.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were basic, intro to chem materials. Learned materials included thermodynamics, electron configuration, the periodic table, noble gas configuration, pKa, kPa, and much more.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the notes, excessively! I was able to achieve high grades on his tests, through studying the notes and doing the "optional" homework. Be prepared for pop quizzes though. He is VERY tough on grading (I once made a 10% on a quiz because I spelled something wrong...). Overall, he is truly a great professor, but you must be willing to put in the work and go to LEAD sessions.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the professor is so willing to help!

    Course highlights:

The teacher herself was the highlight. It was an 8am and she made it easy to come to class and learn that early in the morning.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework! It is a grade and it most definitely helped improve my grade

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Howel is a hands-on teacher who is really devoted to her students doing well. She is head of the chemistry department so she is always in the know all. She spends time on topics and it never feels like you are rushing through a unit.

    Course highlights:

Math is not my best subject, but in this course math was my favorite part. She teaches the math portions really well and always gives ample amounts of review questions.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to the lead tutoring sessions! They will boost your grade and they help tremendously. Also go into this course with the understanding that no matter how well you think you know the unit, you don't know it well enough.
