Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Calculus pushes the student to have a more analytical view of the world. It shows exactly how to apply math to real world situations. For example, Engineers use calculus to apply to design models to get exact results. This prevents the sense of trial and error and saves time and energy for the designer and construction workers. Math is exact and is used everywhere.
I loved learning the material over the semester. I learned that it's very difficult to understand and always changing society, and it is possible. Math allows you to take complex problems and turn them into simple formulas. With these simple formulas you can predict outcomes that are exact.

Advice for students:
Study smarter not harder. You can achieve this by analyzing your instructor's teaching, and testing methods so you can make the proper adjustments. As a student I do not understand mathematics that we'll, but I know I can learn and adapt to achieve a passing grade. For example, my Professor would give us large sections to study, and homework. I figured out that the homework questions were taken from the assigned sections. I would do the assigned sections first, then I would enter the answers for the homework. It was still some work for me to do, but it was manageable. Only 1- 2hrs of my day depending on the material. Also, I used what I call, "Speed math" where I speed through all of my assigned questions as fast as possible, and then checked my answers. If any of the problems are incorrect or I do not understand them, I will redo them. I would do this until I memorize, and understand the question and answer. My Professor would also, consistently use the simplest questions for the test. I found it was a waste of my time to study every question in the assigned sections to find the he chose the easiest, or intermediate question. Soon after I saw what the test material consist of I stopped completing the entire assigned sections. I made more time for my other classes and achieved an A on a test. So, if you are not that good, or horrible at math do not be dismayed. If you can use critical thinking with a little determination you can achieve a passing grade.
