    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would have liked this course if it were not for the teacher. Aside from her, it was fulfilling to learn how to help people in need. The class Is high pressure! You learn 2-5 skills and are tested on them the next day. You spend most of the class waiting to get tested. During that time you practice skills and take classmates vitals. At the end we spent 2 weeks in a nursing home putting our skills to work.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were becoming BLS (basic life support) certified. We learned CPR, chest thrust and supportive breathing. Going to the clinical site and learning to work with real people was a huge eye opener. It was surprising to learn how much help some people require for daily activities.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't take it in the summer. It's more difficult then it appears. If you do take it in the summer, do not make any vacation plans or take other classes. If possible, do not take it with Ms. Reeves. Plan to study and practice! Be prepared. Get all of your blackboard assignments done quickly. They are not difficult but do take up a considerable amount of time.
