    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a very in-depth class that throws a lot of material at you; I found it difficult to keep up at times.

    Course highlights:

I'd say the highlight of the course would be the chapter(s) on genetics. That's where we learned about how we get our physical traits and how a slight mishap in cell formation can change our physical appearance.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study everyday. There's a new pile of information to learn with each class period. The test dates are closer than you think, so it would be best to study and get the information branded in your brain as soon as possible and then review before the test.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you actually study for her tests! They are difficult but go right along with the notes.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

There were good and bad aspects to this course. The teacher makes the material a little hard to follow, so background knowledge on biology is a must. Homework assignments were not long and generally easy. Tests were slightly confusing, but he curves every test around 8-10 points depending on how well the class did. The class is very thorough and is great for anyone wishing to pursue a degree in micro or genetic biology.

    Course highlights:

Class was mostly on microbiology. Learned a lot about cell parts, genetics, DNA, macromolecules... Genetics was easily the most exciting part of the class. For me the class was just something I needed to get through so I could move up to BIO112 which is more focused on ecology.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

A jargon-heavy course. Flash cards are your best bet with many definitions. Try not to take this class early in the morning because you will get sleepy and maybe even fall asleep. Study hard and do ALL assignments. Take advantage of his extra credit and don't be afraid to ask questions.
