    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Taking this math is required for business majors but just do not take this professor! He does not pay attention to his students while lecturing, if someone has a question you have to basically yell to get his attention and when questions are asked he rarely answers them.

    Course highlights:

The website you use is a LIFESAVER. You can get help on questions and they walk you through it. I learned about derivatives, a little bit of economics, and a lot of other things. The only plus is that you will not have to worry about imaginary numbers!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

be prepared to learn everything basically by yourself! There's no way out of taking this if you're a business major so just be prepared and do not fall behind.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is requirement for admittance into the College of Business at East Carolina University. It is not easy to pass, but once you do, you'll feel a real sense of accomplishment.

    Course highlights:

This course reviews Algebra skills, teaches more advanced algebra skills and has a Calculus section on derivatives. The main focus of the course is to apply the mathematics to business applications. Once a concept is taught it is then placed in a word problem format. The student must find the equations to be solved, the method to solve them, and work the problems to their solution.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You will need to read your textbook ahead of time, frequent the tutoring center, and stay on top of the homework and quiz schedule. There is a lot of work outside of class, so set aside 12 Hours in addition to class attendance to learn and complete it all.
