Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Thompson is not only a knowledgeable professor, but she genuinely cares about her students. She inspired me to pursue history as a freshman, and she inspires me to this day how she continues to positively impact the lives of her students. You will leave this course as historians, with a better understanding of analytical writing, critical thinking, and collaborative teamwork.

    Course highlights:

The course readings in the syllabus go hand-in-hand with lecture. Together, you really get a clear understanding of what is happening. My favorite topics were the Age of Exploration and the Columbian Exchange, but topics run through the Reconstruction, post-Civil War.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Part of your grade is a given, because it is attendance. So be sure to go to class! Also, take notes and look over your readings to help you with the class assignments and in preparation for exams. There are two mid-terms and one final exam, and there are 3-4 small assignments throughout the semester. Also, there is a group project near the end of the semester. Be sure to ask questions during discussion - Dr. Thompson is very knowledgeable and passionate about history and y'all can have great discussions!
