    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Andy Bates is an exceptional professor whose primary concern is for the student to progress. While it is not an easy course, the skills you will develop will help you for all future courses.

    Course highlights:

Mr. Bates focus on comparison and contrast through the T.C. Boyle made all of my future English courses simpler due to the ability to analyze fiction and non-fiction.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work. While the course is challenging, it seems to be a shock and a "welcome-to-college" level difficulty.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I am not going to lie, this was a hard class compared to most other English 1100s! Professor Johnson gives prompts that make you think; they're not something you can just throw together the night before. He makes you look at writing a different way. It's not just an assignment, it's a process!

    Course highlights:

I learned that it's not all about the grade. If you're bettering yourself as a writer, the grade will follow. Before I took this course I thought I wasn't a very strong writer, but now I know that if I take my time and put in all my energy, my writing can be beautiful and eloquent!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to put in the work to get the grade you want. Go to his office hours and get advice if you're having trouble writing!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class setting was comfortable and quite small so we got to know the teacher very well and could tell that she cared about our success.

    Course highlights:

The topics of the papers we had to write were among the most interesting that I've ever been able to write.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class and go to teacher's office hours.
