    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

While this course was extremely difficult, especially in the first semester of my Freshman year, it was also incredibly informative and well-taught. It included all the basics of biology, and did a great job of preparing me for the rigor of the science courses to come.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the teaching style, as it was very hands-on, especially the lab periods. I learned everything from the big bang to the different periods to plant reproduction and classification to animal dissection and taxonomy. A lot of information at once, but also crucial for biology majors.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed, you need to study, and study hard. Figure out which methods of studying work best for you, and use them repeatedly. Start studying for tests two weeks in advance, and add to your bank of knowledge as you go. It will be difficult to get a good grade, but it is doable.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this course, but I'm also very interested in biology! Dr. Bush was awesome and is a great teacher, which definitely kept me focused and interested!

    Course highlights:

I gained a better understanding of what kind of plants and animals live around us. We delved deep into each animal phyla, learning what was in it, what defined it, and how they reproduced, along with anything interesting about it. We also looked at plants and how the animal phyla throughout the years and plants corresponded to what was going on on Earth.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study in advance, the material isn't diffivult, but there is a lot!
