Not too easy. Not too difficult.

Increased effectiveness in communication and understanding others

    Course highlights:

Recapping on past experiences and realizing alternate ways you could've communicated. Realizing all the things you do when you are communicating and how it portrays to others

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Really invest your time when you are reflecting on ways you've communicated. I used to sit at work and just pay attention to how people talk to me and how they react in situations really helped visualizing all the types communication, and what type of communicator they are.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This class didn't just benefit me in the classroom, but I have gained such knowledge in life and how I perceive others. You will learn the types of relationships with people and how to further your skills of communication which is so crucial but underrated in society. I have never enjoyed a class more in college. The discussion with fellow classmates gives you a deeper understanding on another's feelings and how to express yours.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was listening to others stories with relationships followed by what works and what doesn't. The lack or strength of communication and taking the time to see and understand how someone can feel a way then how they express it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this course. It's an easy A and you will walk out of this class with so much street knowledge.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course helped encourage me to speak my opinions openly in a group. Communication is a skill that is used with every career. Everyone gets nervous during speeches, this class helped to build skills in order to be more confident with my thinking. I highly recommend this class.

    Course highlights:

This class taught me practice makes perfect. For me, writing the speech and getting the information was easy. The hardest part was going in front of the class to persuade other peers that my opinion was the right one. After my speeches, I always felt accomplished and more confident. It was a major highlight for me. I improved every speech that I did. I learned I needed to practice my speech over and over. I even practiced it with my family and friends. This helped me learn my speech more thoroughly. The more confident you are giving the speech can ensure less stress during the speech.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to finish the writing of the speech quickly. It will give you more time to practice the speech and make changes. Many times when I practiced a speech I would think of another fact I could add into the writing. You should also choose topics you agree with and feel you can write strongly about. It can be a challenge if you write about a subject that is unfamiliar or that you don't agree with.
