    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Well English is obviously a required course but lets pretend for a moment that it isnt. Having good writing skills is very important in everyday life. People write something everyday and being able to convey the message correctly is important. Knowing basic grammar concepts is important and quite often people forget these simple things.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the rhetorical triangle and the three appeals and how to find them in essays that we read in class. In the class we had to write four papers and they all dealt with racial issues. At the end of the semester we had to take three of our four papers and revise them to make our final portfolio. I think that from the beginning of the semseter to the end my writing greatly improved and the organization within my papers were much better.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The moment the paper is assigned start working on it! Working a little everyday is much better that trying to do it all two nights before the paper is due. Have people read your writing. It really helps and utilize the professor that you have. That is what they are for and when you are stuck they will be happy to help
