    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Yes I would recommend this course. It is a great introductory course that gives you a sneak peek of what to expect in the future.

    Course highlights:

The group project was similar to what you will be expected to do in the future as an engineer. I learned a lot about teamwork and how to do research.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always read the pages given. It is a great help for the quizzes and tests.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Alford is an absolutely amazing professor. He is one of few teachers that actually distribute a syllabus the first week of classes and stick with it throughout the semester. He has a lot of patience- even for the students that does not always understand the material the first time it is taught. He has done a great job at making himself available to student after instructional hours to ensure they are clear on everything before a test or quiz.

    Course highlights:

I learned great study habits, what it means to be an engineer, how to formulate a bill of materials, the forward and backwards pass. I learned about vectors, professional attire and maintaining professionalism, and I also learned about last engineering disasters.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study- he gives out a lot of quizzes. There is always a big project at the end of the semester which will have a tremendous impact on your grade, so be sure to start on it early. It can literally take you from a C to an A, or from an A to a D.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I cant say that i would or wouldn't recommend this course at N.C. A&T because it is a REQUIRED course for ALL engineering majors, however I can say that it is a rather easy course. When taking the course under professor Alford there are a few things to remember: 1. Study the assigned reading. He will have pop quizzes that are straight from the reading. If you read then you will be fine, if not then you wont be. 2. Turn the assigned homework in ON TIME. He usually does not take late homework unless there is a special circumstance. You WILL receive a ZERO and the assignments will add up in the end. 3. Make it to class no matter how early. Look, I know better than anybody how hard it is to get up early in the morning, but you've gotta make it to class. Attendance in this class is key. He wont say it out loud, but he hold a little bit of prejudice against students who are repeatedly late or worse, absent. Take the L, go to bed as early as possible so you can wake up and make it to class on time. 4. MAKE HIM YOUR FRIEND!!! What i mean by this is make sure he knows your face with your name and has good memories along with it. Getting on good terms with professors is a surefire way to have a better chance at getting those extra points rounded onto your grade. He is not as bad as he seems, he's a very nice man if you stay on his good side. As long as you follow these steps and pass the tests, you will pass the class no problem. GOOD LUCK!!!

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the friends i made in my major as well as other engineering majors. networking is the key to getting through all of your classes a little bit easier. Studying in a group with people who know what you're through in that class can be a huge help and support system for you.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

GET YOUR SLEEP PEOPLE!!! Studying is important but the class fills up so fast that usually you have to take the early class so make sure to get your sleep.
