    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Basu is one of the best professors I've had. He makes it easy to learn anything!

    Course highlights:

It is an eye-opener. You'll learn more than the typical MLK/Slave Trade type of lessons.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Basu is very easy-going, but do not take advantage of that. He will help you as best as he can, but only if you are reciprocating the effort.

    Course highlights:

Live roleplaying the different African American leaders throughout history

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read and do the outside assignments she gives you early !

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course. Not just to African Americans, but to all people. This course was very informative and provided a better insight on the life and history of African Americans. The assignments were effective and the class discussions were always intriguing.

    Course highlights:

As I stated before, this class provided me a better insight on the life and history of African Americans. There really is a hidden truth to the history of African Americans that I had no knowledge of prior to taking this course. I never experienced the discussions we had about colorism, melanin, race, etc. in any other course. I learned about many black inventors, scholars, and entrepreneurs.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course, I would advise every student to enter the classroom with an open mind. We have to remember that everyone we encounter will not always hold the same values and morals as us. People will agree to disagree and that is completely fine. It was not hard for me to understand or retain the information given in this course because all the material was actually interesting to me. I definitely recommend flashcards in regards to studying.
