    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course itself was fine (and is largely required), but I would not recommend taking it with Paciulli. She definitely plays favorites and can be harsh towards students who aren't in her little bucket of favorites.

    Course highlights:

A large part of the course material comes from random pieces of the lecture. With the way testing is, overarching themes weren't very obvious.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you know the material front and back. The tests are on seemingly random subject material.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ferzli is a great professor and is very passionate about Biology which made the class somewhat interesting. However, because she is so passionate and interested she expects everyone to be. She goes into EXTREME detail and her tests are rather difficult.

    Course highlights:

Like I said, she is very passionate about Biology and was inspiring. She is a great professor and a cool lady, I learned a lot about Biology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely pay attention during her lectures. Print out the notes before class, I recommend printing them in color because she uses a lot of diagrams. You need to study a lot for her tests.

    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Mickle is one of the most passionate professors I had at NCSU. He makes the class fun and very easy to follow. I most definitely recommend this course with him, because he shows you that he cares! Most professors are indifferent about whether you succeed in a class, but he will make sure you are provided with all of the resources you need in order to be successful.

    Course highlights:

When I say he makes it fun, I mean it! During holidays he includes "lectures" about that organisms that are related to the holiday, which is a lot more interesting that it sounds! In my experience, I enjoy teachers who are straight to the point. Dr. Mickle stays on track with the lesson, but he does not just read from the powerpoint. This way, you are able to take notes and hear additional information about what you're writing down. Another reason why you should take this class is that he provides you with everything you need to know for tests. After each chapter, he uploads them on his website and he even uploads a study guide! The study guide includes vocabularies that you should be familiar with (there are free responses on his tests) and multiple essay questions (he chooses one of them for the test). If you use all of the materials that he provides, there is not doubt you will succeed in the class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Although I mentioned that he provides many resources, you still have to study. This is because, he doesn't assign homework. This may sound like a good thing, but now it's your responsibility to use those resources in order to be successful. Also, when you are studying vocabularies that are used in the textbook and notes, make sure you're not just memorizing the term and the definition. The are fill in the blank questions and a short essay on every test, so unless you fully understand them, you will struggle in those sections. He does not use the same definition that he gives you, so make sure you go back to his powerpoint slides and look at examples and diagrams to help you fully understand them!
