    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is hard, because Ghiladi powers through the material in great depth. However, because of this it prepares you for higher levels of chemistry; giving you a head start of sorts.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were definitely the in class demonstrations, the demonstrations were always on topic and then Dr. Ghiladi would always spend time explaining the concepts involved.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook, even when you think you understand the material. And as cliche as this sounds, office hours are a major key to success in this class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I obtained a thorough understanding of not only chemistry but also the amount of outside work that needs to be done in order to succeed in a college class. Dr. Rabah was always open to helping me during her office hours or directly after class. I wish I had prior knowledge of chemistry when I first entered the course but I found friends that were willing to help me through it. Taking the labs seriously also helped me get a better grasp on the material.

    Course highlights:

Some of the in class demonstrations she did were very interesting and caught my attention after a long lecture. I learned that chemistry is just fancy math which helped me because I love math but was never big on science. I loved how she put the powerpoints online before the class so I could review them before the class started.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to work very hard and do all of the assignments posted. The assignments will help you develop time managing skills while providing a learning outlet that can buffer your test grades. Lastly, take the labs seriously enough that you can leave the class knowing what the lesson was.
