    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is called "C and Software Tools", and as the name implies, you learn how to program in C (and a little bit of C++ towards the end). The class is project based, with some smaller weekly programming assignments, and of course 3 tests (including the final exam). I'm going to be blunt here. This course was difficult. It was probably the most difficult class I have taken in college thus far, and I'm a junior. The tests were insanely difficult since the study guides would give us a slew of topics that could (and most likely would) appear on the test. The class slides just contained so much information however, that it was impossible to study it all. Furthermore, the projects took a lot of time to understand and to code. More over, dealing with bugs and problems with C projects was a thousand times worse than dealing with bugs in a Java project.

    Course highlights:

We learned how to code in C (and a little bit of C++). We also learned how to use certain software tools such as the debugger.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Try to learn the C programming language on your own before you take the class.
