    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is tough - there's no denying that. But it's honestly one of the most interesting and useful courses I've ever taken. It helped me both with understanding material for the MCAT, and it helped lay a solid foundation for my higher courses in biology. It also helps cover credits needed for schools such as pharmacy, nursing, dental, etc.

    Course highlights:

You will mostly learn the basics of every body system. There is definitely more depth to cover, but you're able to review a lot of material in a short time span. The anatomy portion (lab) of the class was the most difficult, in my opinion. Nothing more than straight memorization, but depending on how quickly you're able to do that will determine how much time you have to spend each week. Lab quizzes are weekly, and there are 2 practicals (finals, if you will).

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Honestly, just make sure to spend an adequate amount of time weekly. Make sure to not let the anatomy memorization build up or sneak up on you. You will surely regret it if you do!! Also, heavily go thru the outlined topics and highlights for each unit in the book - at times you will be expected to have learned more than what was taught in class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Martha is amazing professor. She's great in class and her powerpoints were really helpful when you are preparing for her test. Additionally, this course is difficult because of the content not just because of her. The lab requires time outside of class and I suggest going to open lab and taking pictures during lab. Also, use the lab list to study for the lab practical because everything from the lists are on it. Lab either makes or breaks your grade so do not neglect it.

    Course highlights:

Lab was my favorite part of this course. I loved learning about the different parts of each system and it is always nice to have a perspective of where each organ is along with what it is doing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This course may be a level 200 but the difficult of this course is equivalent to most level 400. I suggest studying after lecture and staying on top of the learning objectives and doing those while you study. You cannot start study the weekend before an exam and expect to do well. I suggest studying a little every day because the test have a lot of content and are pretty detailed. I got an A in this course because I would study every night before class because we had in class quizzes every class period.
