Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend the course because it was a great introductory course to Africa. You learn about multiple countries and regions, as well as the history, politics, and contemporary issues facing each region.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were the two novels read in class that were firsthand accounts of social, political, and health issues in Liberia and Uganda.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

You definitely need to do and keep up with the readings in order to be successful on the midterm and final.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The teacher at times had tendencies to be slightly condescending and there is an adequate amount of reading to do before each class.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about African culture and colonialism!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the readings and study continuously throughout the semester so you don't have to cram before the tests!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Pop quizzes aren't bad because you can use your notes.

    Course highlights:

Exams are kinda tough so you do definitely need to study for those.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Starting Fall 08 there are no more online quizzes, only pop quizzes.
