    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course challenges perspectives on social theory by engaging critically with a variety of texts from accomplished sociologists and analyzing how these perspectives can be applied to real world scenarios.

    Course highlights:

A major highlight of this course were three short and investigative papers that required you to think critically about theories and apply them to real world scenarios or design and propose a research study to test said hypotheses, which vastly enhanced understanding of course material.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Students considering this course must be willing to complete many readings with a critical gaze while also incorporating current events into these theories. I recommend meeting with the professor to discuss paper ideas to assure that you are on the right track. I also recommend preparing for exams by doing the past questions, since the exam is open note and some questions are from old exams.
