Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

KMP is a great teacher and motivates his students to do their best. Attend class because he's a great lecturer and missing out would be a crime.

    Course highlights:

Helped advance your abilities and understanding of OOP within JAVA. Programming assignments can take some time so do not fall behind and keep up on studying.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Attending lecture is important for any upper level classes. Besides that' what youre in school for anyways. Focus on putting time each day into programming so that the assignments do not take over your time near the end.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I definitely recommend this course for students who are wanting to take their computer science skills to the second level. This is the second course required of the computer science major, and is very work intensive-- so be ready to code for hours on end every week. The TA's can be helpful, so definitely utilize office hours! I never personally went to KMP for office hours, but I've heard he's extremely helpful (more so than the TA's) if you are ever struggling.

    Course highlights:

Furthering your skills in Java is the biggest highlight of this course. I experienced a huge gap in difficulty from COMP 110 to COMP 401, but I believe the school is making 110 a bit harder to lessen the knowledge gap between the two courses, so you should feel prepared going in.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Start on your computer assignments ASAP. I know everyone always says that, but seriously. I spent way too many nights up until the late AM in order to get my assignment turned in on time. Also, GO TO CLASS. Unless you are already a comp sci pro, this is essential because you will hear things in class that you won't be able to learn elsewhere. KMP also talks really fast so if you want the most out of the lectures, I would record them. (I never did this, but wish I did because it would have been SO helpful). Also, make friends... it's so much easier to complete an assignment when you have multiple people to talk your logic out with.
