    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you pay attention in class, you will walk away from it knowing more than you did when you went in. The intensive nature of the course forces you to learn and immediately apply knowledge to a very practical, real-world activity in the field of psychology.

    Course highlights:

Learning how to read and write research studies and proposals is a highlight of this course. Before I began the course, I didn't know what I was looking at when I tried to read research studies. But by the end of the course, I can skim a study in 30 seconds and tell you the gist of the study. And within 10 seconds, I can locate and identify all relevant aspects of what the study entails.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

More is more. The devil is in the details. Also be ready to be more specific than you have ever been in the past. Points for an assignment hinge on something as small and insignificant as a capital vs a lower-case letter.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It gave me a great base for research.

    Course highlights:

The TA, DCCs, and professor really work with you and make sure you're staying on track. I learned how to apply statistics to psychology and research. Dr. Markant gave us plenty of labs to incorporate what we've learned and really guided us along the way.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of the milestones and labs! Getting behind will really hurt you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Kat West is a great teacher. Very thorough and very patient. Loved taking her course.

    Course highlights:

The main project - the research paper - is done in segments. Dr. West makes it manageable and not so overwhelming to complete.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do all assignments, do them on time, and use the feedback given on your assignments to improve your end result paper.
