    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This has been my favorite course(and professor) since coming to UNC Charlotte! Professor Shirley does an incredible job breaking information down to the studs so that you can fully understand what he is talking about. He is extremely passionate about science and his lecture is fun and interesting! If you can't stand traditional boring lectures, or science isn't your thing, take this class because it will really change your perspective.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed learning all about different weather systems and basic earth processes. Professor Shirley is entertaining and likes to make jokes. Every day you go over the weather which is helpful when you don't feel like checking your weather app every morning.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention during lectures and if he says it will be on the test- it will be! Relatively easy class but you still have to study notes to do well on tests. Always attend the review day before the test, it will be a lifesaver.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course for any student pursuing an atmospheric science degree, the professor is fantastic; he is apply to teach and convey the topics very well. Lectures are easy to follow and you learn very interesting information about everyday weather, thunderstorms, hurricanes, tornados, sediment types and so much more!

    Course highlights:

I enjoy extreme weather so the topics on thunderstorms, hurricanes, and tornados were my favorite. I learned the different types of thunderstorms and the three stages a thunderstorm goes through, where, how, and why tornados/hurricanes form along with the effects of both these destructive storms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest that you print out the powerpoint lecture notes that the professor provides you and take extra notes in the margins during class because he adds important information not provided in the power point slides. Before each exam he hands out a list of study questions, I highly recommend answering the questions and studying them because the questions on the exams are almost word for word from the study guide.
