    | Would not recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course, unless it is required of you to take it. Organic chemistry is like learning a new language, and it takes longer than a semester to comprehend everything taught in that short amount of time.

    Course highlights:

I learned about orbitals, periodic table trends, how to draw lewis structures, how to draw skeletal molecules, how to predict and draw reaction mechanisms, and how to name molecules by the IUPAC rules.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't take the course and expect it to be easy. It takes a ton of studying and focus to learn it all. Never skip class and don't get behind on anything.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this source for any science majors, it usually ends up being a requirement anyways. This course is hard but you gain a new perspective on your capacities, study habits, and overall value of school.

    Course highlights:

I learned many mechanisms, reactions, and the ability to distinguish molecular compounds apart from their lewis structures. I learned about Acids and Bases as well as the molecular orbital theory.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Studying needs to begin on the first day, and needs to be consistent throughout the week. In order to be confident for tests, utilize most of the practice problems in the book for mechanisms.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Never underestimate this class. When you finally feel comfortable with the material at hand, study it 3 more hours, because a curve ball will be thrown at you!

    Course highlights:

The best thing that I learned from this course was how to name polymers, and how to reversely draw them. This was very interesting, and was my favorite thing to do.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do all the practice problems you can get your hands on.
