    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Davis was an excellent teacher and gave truly insightful, and thought-provoking lectures.

    Course highlights:

Learning about Native American history and modern-day issues Natives face was really interesting and eye-opening.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Use your textbook! The whole book is filled with great articles written by anthropologists that help you tremendously in understanding thematic concepts. Focus on the bigger picture, and use the details you do remember to help you keep in mind the larger ideas.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it encompasses a general teaching of cultures that are not-western, as the title implies. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this course because it is very easy to forget this information and very easy to fail the class because the only grades are exams, taken periodically throughout the semester.

    Course highlights:

I learned that non-western cultures are very different from our own and I learned that western cultures had a lot to do with influencing this or changing this in some way.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the readings and always try to pay attention. It's really easy to fall asleep in this course as it's mostly lecture based and it's usually a big class with a lot of people. If you have to, invest in soft drinks or energy drinks before class.
