Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Most likely, if you are pursuing a career with the least bit of science required you have to take this class, and you have to do well. It is only really challenging if you make it, so put in the work and you will do fine. It's general chemistry, so you get a general overview of chemistry. You don't dive too deep into anything, therefore, you move from one topic to the next pretty quickly. Overall, not a bad class, just don't slack off.

    Course highlights:

It's the basics, only the need to know. Chemistry builds upon itself, so you don't have the luxury of learning something for the exam and just forgetting it, but it is also what you will need to know to succeed in other classes as well.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Most likely, you have to take it. There's no way around that, just don't dread it. It isn't near as bad as you think it will be. Work hard, study fairly regularly, and keep flashcards, I cannot stress this enough! Flashcards will save your life. Especially when you need to know something specific for that you haven't been over in a while. Also, ask questions. Don't worry about looking the answer up late, especially if you're in class at the time. Gerhard is more than happy to answer any and all questions.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry is not always a subject that is easy to grasp onto but taking Hindo's Class really helped me enjoy a class that I typically wouldn't. Dr. Hindo is a great teacher, he pushes you to really help you understand the material.

    Course highlights:

Be prepared to stay on top of Owl Assignments and always study examples given in the slide provided on Canvas. Study groups are great ideas as well, multiple brains is better than one.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Get ready to really throw yourself in the work. The concepts are not too hard, but if you do not keep you with the material you will find yourself lost because there are a lot of things and the pace is pretty quick.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is an eye opener to the new knowledge of chemistry. There's a few twist in the course but it's a good surprise of what you can learn.

    Course highlights:

I've learned all the things of chemistry and I also learned how to do stoichiometry, which is difficult but doable.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you know the information and study. Practice and do the owl questions that she assigns. Also, look over and do the end of the chapter questions she assigns. The questions in the book don't get graded but they are a great help.
